State Records Office of Western Australia (SROWA) – The core of the State Records Office is the State archives collection. The collection consists of records created by the Colonial and State Governments, as well as Local Government authorities in Western Australia, which are retained permanently by the State Records Office. State archives include files, maps, architectural drawings, documents, microforms, sound recordings and electronic records.

Storylines –  Storylines is a State Library of Western Australia project to explore, identify and return Aboriginal heritage material from the the library’s collections. The project team is working with community members to identify people, places and stories in the photographs and other materials.  Some collections are public access whilst others are culturally sensitive and may only be viewed under the supervision or with permission from Aboriginal Elders.  New information about items in the archive is welcome.

Births, Deaths and Marriages Online Index –  The Pioneers Index  is searchable for Births (1841-1932), Deaths (1841-1971) and Marriages (1841-1936).

TROVE –  An archive managed by the National Library of Australia, consisting of historical digitised newspapers, photographs, maps, diaries, letters and personal archives.

People Profiles and Biographies on Australian War Memorial – Like all human activity, Australian military history has featured many notable personalities – courageous, talented, compassionate, insightful, and even notorious! Here you will find the stories of some of these remarkable people.

Online Documentaries and Exhibitions

Answering the Call  is a multimedia exhibition commemorating the Centenary of ANZAC and its legacy, including Australia’s participation in war and peace keeping missions around the globe.

It introduces historical events in a lyrical and thought provoking manner, creating a space for people to respond both emotionally and with knowledge of how these events played a role in shaping our communities today.
